ABOUT THE BUSINESS
Our client is a fully integrated property development company with a strong track record across industrial, commercial and social infrastructure sectors. Established for over a decade, they operate with a lean, experienced team across Melbourne and Sydney, with a flat structure that places real decision-making authority close to the work. They are currently managing a significant volume of large-scale industrial construction activity across two active Melbourne projects, including the initial warehouse delivery at one of the city’s most substantial new logistics precincts.
THE ROLE
This newly created position has been driven by the volume of active construction across the business's Melbourne portfolio, commencing Q3 2026. Reporting to the Head of Development, you will act as Superintendent across Design & Construct contracts for warehouse and industrial building works, managing builders, consultants and authorities through tendering, design management and on-site delivery. This is an autonomous role - you will be expected to manage your projects with minimal day-to-day oversight.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
- Acting as Superintendent on D&C and Construct Only industrial construction contracts
- Running the contractor tendering process, including procurement, selection and contract negotiation
- Managing the design phase within D&C contracts; reviewing and signing off on design development, responding to RFIs
- Taking accountability for cost, quality and programme outcomes across active projects
- Conducting regular site inspections and attending PCG meetings during construction phases
- Preparing monthly delivery status reports with strong financial and programme commentary
- Managing relationships with clients, builders, consultants and authorities
- Overseeing integrated tenant fitout works as required
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- 5-10 years' experience as a Project Manager or Superintendent on industrial Design & Construct contracts - essential
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline
- Demonstrated experience on industrial builds with a contract value of $30M or above - essential
- Construct Only contract experience - desirable
- Some client-side or owner's representative experience - desirable
- Strong written communication and reporting skills; proficient in MS Project
- Capable of managing multiple priorities simultaneously and working with a high level of autonomy
- Solid understanding of risk management across construction projects
- Current driver's licence, access to a vehicle, and willingness to travel to sites
