scouted. are newly representing a boutique Melbourne-based property developer with a strong track record of delivering high-quality built form residential and mixed-use developments, in their search for a Senior Development Manager to join their Team. The Role

With a major project now moving into construction and additional commercial opportunities progressing through the pipeline, the business is entering an exciting growth phase. To support this momentum, they are looking to appoint a Senior Development Manager who will take genuine ownership across their active and future projects. Working directly alongside the Directors, this role will play a key leadership function and manage projects end-to-end across their lifecycle, whilst also helping strengthen internal development processes as the company continues to expand.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the project lifecycle from feasibility, design management and planning approvals through to construction delivery and completion.
  • Manage external consultants, authorities, contractors and key stakeholders to maintain programme, cost and design outcomes.
  • Provide strategic advice and market updates to Directors, supporting key investment and portfolio decisions, ensuring commercial viability and success.
  • Identify risks, challenges and market factors impacting project outcomes and proactively implement mitigation strategies.
  • Contribute to the ongoing growth of the development platform, including improving internal systems and mentoring future team members.


Key Requirements

  • 7-10+ years of experience in property development, project management, ideally within residential and/or commercial mixed-use space.
  • Proven experience delivering large development projects through multiple stages from acquisition or feasibility through to completion.
  • Strong financial acumen, attention to detail and a process-driven personality.
  • Demonstrated experience managing consultants, authorities and construction partners.
  • A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset with the confidence and capability to operate independently in a small team with a strong desire to expand.
