A rare chance to become the operational right hand to the director of a fast-growing property development business, with genuine scope to build the function and grow with the company. Our client is an established, well-backed property development business based in Melbourne's inner north, operating a develop-and-sell model across industrial business parks, large format retail and repurposed retail assets, with further ventures on the horizon. Led by two directors carrying a substantial project pipeline, the business is in a deliberate growth phase and building out its team. This is a genuine ground-floor role in a company with serious ambition and the backing to deliver on it.
The Role
Reporting directly to the Managing Directors, you will own the operational backbone of the business: part executive support, part operations, part project support. This is a broad, hands-on role for someone who gets across a business quickly, takes ownership of systems and processes, and brings solutions rather than simply flagging problems. You will be trusted with real responsibility and expected to run with it.
What You'll Be Doing
- Providing high-level executive support to the Director, managing diary, meetings and shifting priorities
- Owning and building out company systems and infrastructure, including SharePoint architecture and file structure across the group
- Developing and implementing policies and procedures across HR, operations, and IT and information security
- Coordinating recruitment and onboarding as the team scales, including job descriptions, advertising and interview logistics
- Supporting marketing and collateral projects, including pitch decks and website builds
- Project-managing an office relocation once suitable premises are secured
What We're Looking For
- A career EA or office/operations manager, ideally with exposure to property, development, construction or professional services
- A seasoned, self-directed operator who takes initiative and runs with things without close management
- Strong systems and process capability across documentation, policy development and business infrastructure
- Sound commercial judgement, and an understanding of why governance and controls matter as a business scales
- High emotional intelligence and discretion, with the ability to work in close, trusted partnership with a hands-on owner-operator
- Someone steady and resilient who takes direct feedback well and is looking to grow with a business over the long term
What's on Offer
- Base salary of $120,000 plus super, reviewed after an initial six months, with room to move for the right person
- The chance to shape and own the operational function of a growing business
- Direct access to the directors and genuine influence over how the business runs
- Office-based to start, with potential for one day per week from home following probationary period
