Ready to step into a role where systems, strategy, and payroll collide? This is your chance to join a high-performing People Systems team driving major transformation projects, continuous improvement initiatives, and smarter ways of working across a complex national workforce.

👋 Who are we?

We're partnering with one of Australia's most recognised retail brands, known for innovation, large-scale operations, and a people-first culture. With exciting transformation initiatives underway, the People Systems function is playing a critical role in shaping how workforce technology, payroll systems, and automation support thousands of employees across the business. The environment is collaborative, fast-moving, and evolving, making it perfect for someone who enjoys solving problems, improving systems, and making a genuine impact.

😊 Who are you?

You're a systems-minded payroll professional who loves finding smarter, more efficient ways of working. You understand payroll processes, integrations, and HRIS functionality, but you're equally passionate about optimisation, automation, reporting, and continuous improvement.

You don't need 15+ years of experience or to be a pure technical analyst. What matters most is your ability to think strategically, solve problems, and confidently navigate complex environments.

You'll need:

  • Hands-on experience with SAP SuccessFactors and ECP (Employee Central Payroll) - this is essential
  • Experience working with payroll or people systems in complex environments

Highly regarded (but not essential):

  • Exposure to Kronos, Workday, or similar HRIS/payroll platforms
  • Strong understanding of payroll reporting and system functionality
  • Experience supporting implementations, enhancements, or systems projects
  • A proactive mindset with strong resilience and adaptability
  • The ability to translate business requirements into practical system solutions

🤸 Day to day

This role is heavily focused on systems optimisation, payroll functionality, reporting, and continuous improvement, rather than payroll processing itself.

Your day-to-day may include:

  • Supporting and optimising SAP SuccessFactors and ECP, with exposure to Kronos a plus
  • Managing system configuration, pay rules, leave structures, and payroll calendars
  • Supporting upcoming projects including Payday Super and Kronos uplift initiatives
  • Identifying automation and process improvement opportunities
  • Partnering with Payroll, HR, Technology, and external vendors
  • Supporting system enhancements, testing, UAT, and implementation activities
  • Building and maintaining payroll and workforce reporting dashboards
  • Improving data integrity, governance, and compliance controls
  • Translating operational and payroll requirements into scalable system solutions
  • Supporting a large, high-volume workforce environment

🧰 What's in your toolkit?

  • SAP SuccessFactors and ECP experience - essential
  • Exposure to Kronos highly regarded
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capability
  • Understanding of payroll rules, awards, and legislative compliance in a systems context
  • Experience with systems implementations, upgrades, or optimisation projects
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
  • A continuous improvement mindset with a passion for automation and efficiency
  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced, evolving environments

What's in it for you?

  • Join a nationally recognised business undergoing exciting transformation
  • Work on large-scale payroll and systems initiatives
  • Flexible hybrid working model
  • Exposure to enterprise-level systems and projects
  • Collaborative leadership team with strong systems focus
  • Opportunity to make a genuine impact in a high-visibility role
  • Flexible core working hours
