What's the brief?


Some HR roles support the operation. This one helps drive it.


You'll be the trusted People & Culture partner for a large operational workforce, partnering closely with leaders to navigate employee relations, culture, capability and change.


This is a hands-on role where you'll be embedded in the business, building relationships, coaching leaders and helping drive workforce outcomes that support operational performance.


Reporting into an experienced People leader, you'll have the autonomy to run your portfolio while contributing to broader people initiatives across the business.

Your Role in Action


  • Act as the primary People & Culture partner for a large operational workforce
  • Coach and support leaders across employee relations, performance, conduct and workplace investigations
  • Partner with leaders to strengthen capability, engagement and team performance
  • Provide commercially balanced advice on workforce matters, ensuring alignment with legislation, policy and business objectives
  • Build strong relationships with employee representatives and key stakeholders
  • Support organisational change initiatives, workforce planning and business improvement projects
  • Identify trends, risks and opportunities using people insights and operational data
  • Champion culture initiatives that enhance employee engagement and organisational performance
  • Partner with leaders to proactively address workforce challenges before they become business risks
  • Contribute to broader People & Culture projects and strategic initiatives


What You Bring



  • Demonstrated HR Business Partner experience within a complex operational environment
  • Strong employee relations capability, including investigations, performance management and workplace advice
  • Confidence partnering with senior operational leaders and influencing outcomes
  • The ability to balance strategic thinking with a hands-on approach
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and the credibility to build trusted relationships quickly
  • Sound understanding of employment legislation and industrial frameworks
  • Experience supporting change, transformation or business improvement initiatives
  • A proactive mindset and genuine curiosity about how people practices can improve business performance
