Bring the Australian People lens to a global operating model, leading across ER, change, team capability and broader People Operations.

What's the brief?

You’ll be joining a global organisation within an established People Operations function, taking on a broad senior role with responsibility across Australia/APAC.

At its core, this role provides the Australian People expertise within a global operating model. You’ll bring strong Australian ER and employment knowledge, alongside a broader remit spanning organisational change, leadership of a five-person team, manager capability, policy and compliance, engagement, wellbeing and broader People initiatives.

With much of the transactional HR activity managed centrally, your focus will be on advice, judgement and quality - ensuring global People processes work effectively in the Australian environment, identifying gaps or risks and partnering across the global People function to shape practical, locally appropriate solutions.

Is This Your Perfect Match?

This is an opportunity for an experienced People leader with strong Australian ER expertise and global experience, who can bring that technical depth to a broader remit spanning team leadership, organisational change and People Operations.

You’ll provide leadership to a five-person team, setting direction, building capability and providing technical guidance, while also coaching managers across the business to strengthen people-management capability.

You’ll play an important role in supporting organisational change, working with multiple stakeholders to navigate the People considerations and help leaders manage change effectively.

You’ll also be joining a global operating model that continues to evolve. You’ll bring the judgement and adaptability to navigate changing processes and responsibilities, identify what needs attention and provide practical direction to keep things moving.

Where You’ll Make an Impact

Employee Relations & People Advice: Be a trusted source of practical Australian employment advice across ER, legislation, awards, classification, policy and compliance.

Global People Operations: Bring the Australian lens to globally managed People processes, identifying where local requirements or adaptations are needed and influencing practical solutions for the Australian environment.

Team Leadership: Lead, coach and develop a five-person team, providing direction, technical guidance, quality oversight and clear accountability.

Organisational Change: Support organisational change and broader People initiatives, working with stakeholders to ensure People considerations and Australian employment requirements are effectively managed.

Manager Capability: Coach and support managers across performance, employee matters, policy and change, strengthening people leadership across the business.

Broader People Agenda: Contribute to engagement, wellbeing, learning, benefits and broader People initiatives that support the employee experience.

What Sets You Apart

You’re an experienced People professional with deep expertise in employment legislation and Employee Relations, combined with the broader People capability to operate across a diverse remit. You understand how employment requirements, People practices and the employee experience connect, with the operational depth to identify gaps and shape practical improvements.

You’re comfortable operating within a global structure, applying a strong local employment lens while balancing global consistency with local requirements. You can influence stakeholders, exercise sound judgement and help shape practical solutions.

You’ll bring:

  • Strong Australian ER and practical case-management experience
  • Strong knowledge of Australian employment legislation, awards, classification and compliance
  • Experience supporting organisational change and coordinating People projects
  • Experience working within a global People environment and with international stakeholders
  • Experience leading, coaching and developing a People team
  • Strong manager coaching and capability-building experience
  • A practical understanding of People processes and compliance
  • The ability to influence, build relationships and drive activity through to completion
  • The judgement to operate effectively where processes and responsibilities continue to evolve
  • Experience delivering engagement, wellbeing, learning and broader employee initiatives
