Build the systems, structure and discipline behind the next phase of growth.
What's the brief?
You’ll be joining a growing research and advisory business working closely with senior leaders across Australia and New Zealand. With ambitious growth plans, this role plays a key part in building the people, systems and operating foundations that will support the next phase of growth.
Sitting close to the CEO, Head of Strategy and Finance Director, this is a standalone role with a clear mandate to bring greater consistency, efficiency and visibility across operations. You’ll take a diagnostic approach to start - understanding how work currently gets done, where the gaps are, and what needs to be streamlined, formalised or built from scratch.
From there, it’s about implementing practical, scalable solutions that improve execution across the business, while also owning the day-to-day people, HR and operational work required to keep things running effectively.
A key part of the role is bringing a commercial lens to people and operations - ensuring decisions around structure, hiring, performance and remuneration are aligned to business priorities, cost discipline and growth.
Is This Your Perfect Match?
- You’re confident working with senior stakeholders and can introduce structure in a way that lands.
- You’re an HR professional who enjoys bringing structure to complexity - someone who can step into ambiguity, make sense of it, and create clear, practical ways of working that lift both people outcomes and business performance.
- You’re naturally structured in how you think and work, and you take satisfaction in tightening processes, improving workflows and creating clarity where things feel loose or undefined.
- You balance thinking and doing - comfortable stepping back to diagnose issues, but equally quick to implement practical solutions.
- You’re commercially minded and understand how operations underpin business performance, including how workforce decisions, remuneration and cost structures impact the bottom line.
Where You’ll Make an Impact
- Operational Structure & Frameworks: You’ll build and embed core frameworks from first principles, including contracts, policies, performance frameworks and job architecture, bringing clarity to roles, responsibilities, KPIs and expectations.
- Governance, Risk & Compliance: You’ll lift governance and consistency across employment practices, providing practical, commercial advice to leadership while strengthening compliance and reducing risk.
- Talent & Workforce Planning: You’ll design and run a structured, end-to-end recruitment approach, improving hiring quality and consistency while reducing reliance on agencies. You’ll partner with leaders on workforce planning and hiring strategy, balancing capability needs with cost and efficiency.
- Onboarding & Employee Lifecycle: You’ll strengthen onboarding and induction, ensuring new hires are set up for early success, while improving consistency across the broader employee lifecycle.
- Systems & Infrastructure: You’ll lead the selection and implementation of a fit-for-purpose HRIS or workforce management system, with current processes sitting across Xero and manual processes, and ensure alignment between people data, contracts and payroll (managed by Finance).
- Process Design & Efficiency: You’ll map and redesign end-to-end processes, reducing inefficiencies, improving workflows and embedding more scalable ways of working across the business.
- Data & Reporting: You’ll improve data integrity, reporting and visibility across people and operations, enabling better decision-making and business insight.
- Operating Rhythm & Organisational Effectiveness: You’ll partner with leadership to improve operating rhythm, decision-making and accountability, support organisational design and ways of working, and contribute to remuneration structures, incentive frameworks and broader cost optimisation decisions.
- Culture & Engagement: You’ll play a key role in driving engagement, culture and connection as the business continues to scale.
