Payroll Officer (Part-Time - 4 Days)

$100,000 FTE + 12% super (Pro-rata $80,000 + super)

Permanent Part-Time | 4 days per week

Clayton | Onsite (WFH flexibility after 6 months)

They are looking to welcome an experienced Payroll Officer into their People & Culture team. You’ll join a small, dedicated payroll function supporting a large, diverse workforce and ensuring payroll is delivered accurately and on time, every time.


This is a permanent part-time role (4 days per week) based in Clayton, offering flexibility around start and finish times and the opportunity for hybrid working after the initial onboarding period.

🤸 Day to day


No two days will look exactly the same, but your responsibilities will include:


  • Processing end-to-end fortnightly payroll for approximately 500+ employees
  • Managing payroll adjustments, new starters and termination payments
  • Following up timesheet approvals and masterfile data changes
  • Providing payroll support and responding to employee queries
  • Supporting workers compensation payments and reimbursements
  • Maintaining payroll data accuracy and compliance
  • Assisting with payroll reporting and data checks
  • Supporting process improvements and payroll documentation
  • Providing system training to employees where required


You’ll work closely with the Payroll Manager and broader People & Culture team to ensure payroll runs smoothly and efficiently.

Must-haves:

  • End-to-end payroll experience
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work to deadlines and payroll cycles
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Intermediate Excel skills
  • Experience working in award-based payroll environments


Nice-to-haves:

  • Experience with Dayforce or similar systems
  • Experience in multi-award environments
  • Exposure to industrial or operational workforces
  • Continuous improvement mindset
